Dolphins Free Agency: Alex Smith Visiting Miami, According To Report

The Miami Dolphins have been in pursuit of a free agent quarterback during the 2012 NFL offseason. With lots of interest in Peyton Manning, the Dolphins moved on to Matt Flynn, but now have also brought in San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith for a visit, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Smith is coming off nearly taking the 49ers to the Super Bowl, as he got hot during the NFC playoffs but cooled off against the vaunted New York Giants defense. Smith, a former No. 1 overall draft pick, is coming off the best season of his career throwing for over 3,000 yards with 17 touchdowns and just 5 interceptions.
