David Garrard Signs One-Year Deal, Dolphins Release Yeremiah Bell To Create Cap Space

More details continue to emerge from Monday night's original report by Fox's Jay Glazer that the Miami Dolphins signed former Jaguars' quarterback David Garrard. It appears that he will be given a shot at the starting job come training camp this summer. The one-time Pro Bowler issued some statements to the Associated Press, indicating that he's excited to get back in the league and compete for a starting job.

Via Associated Press:

"They didn't say for sure they were bringing another guy in, but they said it's a possibility, whether in the draft or whatever," Garrard said in a phone interview.

"It's going to be a great competition, and I'm all about that," Garrard said. "I'm going to do my best to make sure it's me on opening day."

According to reports, he signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins, who also released safety Yeremiah Bell to create cap space for another potential quarterback signing.
