Miami Dolphins Draft Rumors: Phins Considering Trading Down

Ryan Tannehill could fall to the Miami Dolphins at No. 8, but they might not be completely enamored with the idea of selecting him or any other prospect in that position. According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are considering trading down and have already contacted other teams about doing so.

I alluded yesterday to the idea the Dolphins could trade down from the No. 8 overall selection in the first round and today that idea is picking up steam as multiple club sources are telling me at this hour Miami has spoken to at least three teams about moving back.

The top five or six prospects in the draft are basically set in stone, but there's a lot of uncertainty after that. If the Miami Dolphins aren't set on Tannehill or any other prospect outside of the well-defined top tier of players, it would benefit them to move down and pick up multiple picks. Tannehill would be a good pick for PR purposes, but the Dolphins are a team in need of help at multiple positions.
