Round 2 NFL Mock Draft: Miami Goes Defense After Taking Tannehill In Round 1

The Miami Dolphins took what they hope will be the quarterback of the future for them in the first round on Thursday in Texas A&M gunslinger Ryan Tannehill. Defense was also a popular selection for them in some mock drafts around the Internet, and that's where the guys at Mocking the Draft have them going in their Round 2 NFL Mock Draft on Friday morning. The Dolphins are projected to take Courtney Upshaw of Alabama, one of the highest ranked players still on the board.

Koa Misi has been an average pass rusher for the Dolphins and Upshaw would be a steal at this point. He's a natural 3-4 outside linebacker and may not even last this long.

Upshaw was considered a mid-first round prospect but fell down the board because he has some concerns about what position he will end up playing. But he can flat out get after the quarterback, and the Dolphins could really use a player like that opposite Cameron Wake.
