2012 NFL Draft Bust Factor: Ryan Tannehill

The NFL Draft is now a week old, but the speculation and the prognosticating is nowhere near over. Now people are wondering if players selected in the first round will pan out, or will wind up being a bust. Ryan Van Bibber of SBNation.com has gone through the first round and has selected a handful of players that could be potential first round busts. Among those names, Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

The major concern with Tannehill according to Van Bibber is his lack of experience, which seemed to show during the second half of the season last year with Texas A&M. Van Bibber does mention however, because the Dolphins have Matt Moore and David Garrard on the roster, there is no rush to start Tannehill.

Tannehill made 19 college starts as a signal caller. That right there is what the kids like to call a red flag. Poor second-half performances and blown leads against Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma State and Missouri last season all raise even more concerns. Working in Tannehill's favor is that the Dolphins have no need to start him immediately. They can get by with Matt Moore or even the veteran David Garrard, if they have to.

Miami fans certainly hope that Tannehill is the long-term solution that the Dolphins brass think he can be. That remains to be seen however.
