While there are three quarterbacks on the Miami Dolphins' roster at this moment, the early word out of Miami is that David Garrard is the early leader in the competition, according to National Football Post writer Terry McCormick. There he reported on comments by ESPN's Adam Schefter saying that the former Jacksonville Jaguar could have the inside track.
The more you hear, the more it sounds like David Garrard has really taken this opportunity to emerge as the favorite to be the starting quarterback down in Miami. Very impressive, adept, good footwork. Matt Moore's been good, Ryan Tannehill's been good, but David Garrard has looked the most comfortable of any of the quarterbacks.
Garrard did miss all of last season with a back injury, but after signing with the Dolphins he has tried to do everything that he could possibly do so that he could get the starting role. The Dolphins did draft their solution for the future with Ryan Tannehill, but he is still a few seasons away from making making major contributions.
