The Miami Dolphins knew when they drafted quarterback Ryan Tannehill that it was going to take awhile before he matured into a decent quarterback. Reports are coming out of Miami that right now he is having some difficulty throwing into traffic, which means that he will most likely start training camp as the No. 3 quarterback, according to Brian Biggane at the Palm Beach Post.
As for Tannehill, he's not in the running right now due to his untimely mistakes, particularly when throwing into traffic. Coach Joe Philbin and his staff have made it clear that turnovers will not be tolerated, so for now at least Tannehill will continue his apprenticeship as the No. 3 guy.
The Miami Dolphins are certainly hoping that Tannehill will improve quite a bit between now and when training camp does begin. Regardless of how long it takes, Dolphins fans will have to practice patience while waiting for Tannehill to become NFL ready.
