Johnson was arrested Saturday night for domestic violence, according to Davie Police Department captain Dale Engle.
According to a source the incident took place in a vehicle.
Johnson allegedly head-butted his new wife, Evelyn Lazado, during an argument.
Johnson, 34, who signed a one-year contract with the Dolphins in early June, recently married Evelyn Lazado on the Fourth of July. Lazado, a TV personality and is one of six main cast members in the VH1's Basketball Wives series, reportedly had "lacerations" on her forehead.
