By the time the Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins hit the field for their preseason meeting Friday at 7:30 p.m., the NFL preseason will be on its home stretch and the regular season will loom. But even with Week 1 staring the Dolphins in the face, the quarterback battle in Miami has yet to be decided.
Both Ryan Tannehill and Matt Moore will continue to get their chances against the Atlanta defense, competing for a position battle that looked to be a three-horse races entering the preseason. A injury to quarterback David Garrard has reduced the race to two, but the Dolphins are keeping the depth chart close to their chests.
Tannehill, the Dolphin's first-round selection, is a combined 25-for-44 in the Dolphins' first two preseason games with 236 yards. Moore is a combined 12-of-27 for 136 yards in less attempts than the first-rounder.
The Dolphins quarterback battle has been brewing as the team has struggled to match up during the preseason, dropping their first two contests before the regular season starts as questions remain for Miami.
Location: Sun Life Stadium, Miami, Florida
