NBA MVP odds: LeBron James the favorite to win award

Miami Heat forward LeBron James is the current favorite to win the NBA MVP award. He might have some competition from one of his own teammates, though, as Dwyane Wade is also listed in the top ten.

Miami Heat forward LeBron James, winner of the NBA MVP award in three of the last four seasons, is the favorite to win his fourth MVP award this season according to sports betting website Bovada. Currently, the odds for James winning the MVP award are 9/5. Heat teammate Dwyane Wade is in the top 10 of favorites with 22/1 odds.

Other players that are favored in the MVP race include Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder at 15/4, Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers at 12/1, Russell Westbrook of the Thunder, Dwight Howard and Steve Nash of the Lakers tied at 16/1 and Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers with Kevin Love of the Minnesota Timberwolves at 20/1.

Bovada also released their odds for rookie of the year. New Orleans Hornets center Anthony Davis is the favorite at 19/10 odds. Damian Lillard of the Portland Trailblazers is at 11/2, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist of the Charlotte Bobcats is at 9/1, Thomas Robinson of the Sacramento Kings is at 19/2 and Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards is at 10/1.
