After a trip to China that saw them split two games against the Los Angeles Clippers, the defending NBA champion Miami Heat return home to American Airlines Arena on Thursday to take on the Detroit Pistons.

Miami has opened the preseason just 1-2, but that's of little concern to the champs. Dwyane Wade has seen limited action, while LeBron James and Chris Bosh have both played well in their time.

The Heat are trying to acclimate several new players to the lineup, including Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. Allen has gotten off to a nice start this preseason, scoring in double figures in two of the three games.

Detroit has started itsexhibition slate 2-2, with its last outing being a 112-86 beat down of the Orlando Magic. Pistons rookie center Andre Drummond has been a major plus for Detroit, showing so far that he was worthy of the No. 9 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.

Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m. ET and there is no TV listing for Miami.
