The Miami Heat expect forward Udonis Haslem to return to action on Wednesday, when they take on the Washington Wizards in Kansas City's Sprint Center. Haslem has been sidelined with a quad injury, and has not appeared in any preseason games.
The Heat have been very cautious with Haslem, who has been able to practice with the team. Still, it appears the veteran forward is eager to get back on the court. "I think he will physically harm me if he doesn't play [Wednesday], so he's playing," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.
Haslem has been with the Heat since 2003 after playing in college at Florida. Last season, the 6'8 power forward averaged 6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
Mario Chalmers could also make an appearance against the Wizards, but that seems less likely. Chalmers is also recovering from a quad injury. He and Haslem have been working out together.
