The Miami Heat moved their record to 2-1 on the young 2012 season over the weekend, after notching a win and suffering a loss.
On Friday, Miami lost to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, just days after Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc through New York City. The Knicks came out fired up, and gave the Heat their first loss of the season, 104-84. Carmelo Anthony scored a game-high 30 points for the Knicks.
Miami rebounded with a win on Sunday, defeating the Denver Nuggets, 119-116. Chris Bosh scored a game-high 40 points for the Heat in the win. LeBron James posted a double-double for the Heat, scoring 20 points while dishing out 11 assists.
At 2-1, the Heat currently sit in second place in the Southeast division. The Orlando Magic lead the Heat by half a game with a 2-0 record, while the Charlotte Bobcats and Atlanta Hawks are at 1-1. The Washington Wizards are the division's only winless team, at 0-2.
Miami will play three games this week, as they host the Phoenix Suns on Monday, and the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday, before heading to Atlanta to take on the Hawks on Friday night.
