Los Angeles Lakers Visit Miami Heat: Game 14 Preview

LeBron James looks to stay hot and Mike Miller tries to stay perfect from behind the arc as Miami welcomes Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers to the AA Arena in Miami.

The Miami Heat will be hosting the Los Angeles Lakers at the AA Arena tonight. It's the first of two meetings this season between the two teams, and the only time they will play in Miami. The Heat are 4-1 at home, Los Angeles carries an 1-4 road record into the game. For the Heat, this is the second game of a five game homestand. They beat the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday with a 39 point third quarter, 120-98. They go on to host the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday, the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday and the Cleveland Cavaliers next Tuesday. The Lakers will be starting a short two game road trip against Miami, and go on to face the Orlando Magic tomorrow night.

The two teams last met on March 10th of last season. Miami posted a 94-88 victory that night. Chris Bosh led four Heat players in double digits, with 24 points and nine rebounds. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers in a losing effort with 24 of his own.

Miami fell behind the San Antonio Spurs by as many as 17 in the first half before outscoring the Spurs, 39-12 in the third quarter to win, 120-98 on Tuesday night. LeBron James led Miami with 33 points and 10 assists, Chris Bosh pitched in 30 points with eight rebounds, and Mike Miller threw down 18 off the bench with a perfect night from behind the arc, going six-for-six. Danny Green led the Spurs with 20 points off the bench.

The Lakers are coming off a 73-70 victory against the defending NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks on Monday night. Andrew Bynum led Los Angeles with 17 points and 15 rebounds. The game broke a string of four consecutive 40-point nights for Kobe Bryant, in his 16th NBA season. Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks with 21 points, the only Dallas player who scored more than 10.
