Deron Williams Injury: Nets Will Be Without Their Top Scorer Versus The Heat

The New Jersey Nets will not have point guard Deron Williams when they host the Miami Heat on Monday night. Williams is out with a sore right calf, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel.

Williams has been the Nets' top player this season. He leads the team with an average of 21 points per game and almost nine assists. Additionally, he averages 3.3 rebounds per game. Averaging more than 15 points per game in April, Williams has struggle of late. In his last two outings, he has hit less than 30 percent of his field goals.

Miami was already favored in this matchup against a Nets team that has lost two of its last three. Williams out of the game only increases their chances. A Sunday night win over the Knicks silenced a few doubters concerning the Heat's recent road struggles against the league's better teams. A second straight road win only help.
