The Miami Heat will open up their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series on Saturday, April 28, likely against the New York Knicks. The other possible opponent for the Heat in the first round would be the Philadelphia 76ers, but the Knicks would have to lose to the Charlotte Bobcats and the 76ers would have to defeat the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night to earn that matchup.
If Miami does wind up playing the Knicks, they face a team they swept during the regular season. The first game on January 27, Miami won 99-89. In the second game on February 23, the Heat won, 102-88. In their most recent matchup on April 15, Miami won 93-85.
The remainder of the playoff series schedule will come out after Thursday, the final day of the regular season.
