An MRI exam on Monday revealed that Miami Heat power forward Chris Bosh has a strained abdominal muscle, according to the team. That puts Bosh on the shelf indefinitely.
The news raises serious questions about the Heat's playoff hopes. Bosh was part of a trio with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade that helped Miami earn the second seed in the Eastern Conference headed into this year's playoffs.
Bosh injured his abdominal muscle late in the first half of Sunday's Game 1 win over the Indiana Pacers. He went up for a dunk and was fouled by Pacers center Roy Hibbert. He came down and doubled over in pain on the court.
James and Wade carried the team through the second half without Bosh. Just how much the pair can do without Bosh on the court was the subject of this piece at SB Nation's NBA hub on Monday morning.
