The 2012-13 NBA schedule is out, and the Miami Heat, the reigning league champions, are unsurprisingly on national television on both opening night and Christmas Day. The Heat open their season on October 30 at home, where they'll raise their championship banner prior to their opener against the Boston Celtics. That game will be broadcast nationally on TNT.
Miami's next two games are also televised nationally. They take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on November 2, then host the Denver Nuggets on NBA TV a day later.
The highlight of the schedule is the Christmas Day game, when they play Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder in an NBA Finals rematch. That's ABC's marquee 5:30 p.m. ET tipoff game. It's the first of two games between the two teams, and it will be played in Miami. Their second meeting in Oklahoma City comes on February 14 and will be televised on NBA TV.
