College basketball scores: Hurricanes upset No. 13 Spartans

The Miami Hurricanes' upset of the No. 13 Michigan State Spartans highlighted the state of Florida's college basketball slate on Wednesday.

Here's a recap of the college basketball action in the state of Florida on Wednesday:

Miami (FL) 67, No. 13 Michigan State 59

The Hurricanes used a big second half to shock the No. 13 Spartans at BankUnited Center. The students rushed the court after the thrilling victory that moved Miami to 4-1 on the season. Four Hurricanes scored in double figures, led by Trey McKinney-Jones' 18 points. Miami trailed by four at halftime, but outscored Michigan State, 40-28, in the second half. The Hurricanes made 9-of-16 three-pointers in the victory.

VCU 92, Stetson 56

The Hatters never had much of a chance against the Rams, trailing nearly the whole game and losing by 36. VCU shot 52.2 percent from the field and outrebounded Stetson, 40-28. Juvonte Reddic scored a game-high 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting to lead the Rams. Joel Naburgs' 16 points led the Hatters. Stetson dropped to 2-3.

South Carolina State 74, Jacksonville 72

The Dolphins nearly erased a 15-point halftime deficit, but fell just short in a two-point loss to the Bulldogs. Adama Adams led four Bulldogs in double figures with 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Adams also added five rebounds and five assists. Dylan Fritsch's 14 points led the Dolphins. Jacksonville fell to 3-5 on the season.
