The Miami Hurricanes will face the North Carolina Tar Heels for the ACC Championship on Sunday. The top-seeded Hurricanes beat the N.C. State Wolfpack to advance, 81-71, while UNC just made it past the Maryland Terrapins, 79-76.
Down by three with just 31 seconds left, Maryland took to fouling. Marcus Paige and P.J. Hairston both made 1-of-2 free throws, and Maryland missed their shots at the other end to seal the game for the Tar Heels. Reggie Bullock and Dexter Strickland both had 15 points on the night, and Bullock led the team with nine rebounds.
Miami had considerably less trouble with their semifinal opponent, leading the Wolfpack from the first bucket. Durand Scott had 32 points for Miami, and Shane Larkin added another 23, sending the Hurricanes to the first conference championship game in school history.
Miami is 2-0 against UNC in the regular season, with a 68-59 win in early January and an 87-61 win a month later. Complete ACC Tournament coverage can be found at SB Nation's ACC Championship hub, and a complete bracket can be found here.
