The Miami Hurricanes are on to the round of 32 after they steamrolled the Pacific Tigers 78-49 in Austin Friday afternoon. The second-seeded Hurricanes will now face the seventh seeded Illinois Fighting Illini Sunday.

Pacific stayed close for the first seven minutes of the game before the Hurricanes started to pull away, holding the Tigers scoreless for seven minutes. During that time, Miami went on a 14-0 run to stretch the lead to 22-7 on their way to 40-19 halftime lead. The Hurricanes didn't let up in the second, scoring 38 points. Miami was led by guard Durand Scott's 21 points and Shane Larkin's 10 points and nine assists.
The Hurricanes will now face Illinois, who beat the Colorado Buffaloes 57-49 behind 17 points from Brandon Paul. That game is set for Sunday, but time and TV haven't been released yet. Also in the East region, No. 1 seed Indiana beat James Madison 83-62 while the No. 9 seed Temple Owls held off N.C. State to get the pleasure of playing the Hoosiers Sunday.
