The Miami Hurricanes led the North Carolina Tar Heels at halftime 35-30 and looked like they were going to be able to pull the upset, but the Tar Heels came out in the second half with a vengeance. The Tar Heels put down 43 points in the second half, picking up the 73-64 win. UNC's Harrison Barnes led the way for the Tar Heels with 23 points and 6 rebounds. John Henson added another 14 points.
The Hurricanes weren't able to keep up in the second half as Durand Scott led the way for the Canes scoring with 15 points on the night. Kenny Kadji finished the night with 13 points and 6 rebounds while Reggie Johnson finished the night with a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
