The Miami Hurricanes will look to start their season with two straight wins when they face off against the Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday, at Bill Snyder Stadium.
Miami looked good in its season opener against the Boston College Eagles, winning 41-32 in an offensive shootout. Duke Johnson was the star of the show, rushing for 135 yards on just seven carries. The freshman also scored two touchdowns to help the Hurricanes take their first ACC affair of 2012.
No. 22 Kansas State looked solid, if unspectacular, in its first contest, beating the overwhelmed Missouri State Bears 51-9 on Saturday. In a stunning development, the Wildcats couldn't pull away through the first three quarters, before destroying the Bears with 35 points in the final period.
Kansas St. was dominant on the ground, rushing for over eight yards per carry and gaining 324 yards overall. Junior John Hubert was the bell-cow of the attack, amassing 152 yards and a touchdown on 12 attempts.
