Marlins Manager Ozzie Guillen To Address Fidel Castro Comments At Press Conference

Apologizing for poorly considered remarks is nothing to for Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen. In his first season as manager of the Marlins, Guillen ran afoul of the community with his comment in Time Magazine about Fidel Castro. Guillen was quoted as saying "I love Fidel Castro." He will return to Miami for a Tuesday press conference, according to Jayson Stark.

Setting off a firestorm of criticism and the boycott of one Cuban group, Guillen issued an apology in the wake of his statement. The purpose of Guillen's press conference will be to address his comment and answer questions about the matter.

Said Guillen:

"I want to make everything clear what's going on. Then people can see me and know what I think," Guillen said.

"I think it's the proper thing so people can see my eyes and ask every question they want to ask."
