Giancarlo Stanton Hits 122 MPH Grand Slam, Breaks Marlins Scoreboard

The Miami Marlins were trailing the Colorado Rockies 4-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning, until Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton crushed a Jamie Moyer pitch over the wall for a grand slam. Moyer's pitch was just 72 m.p.h., but left Stanton's bat at 122 m.p.h. and traveled 438 feet, easily clearing the left field wall.

Stanton received a curtain call from the crowd after destroying the baseball and breaking the scoreboard. Check out the video of the home run after the jump.

Yeah, those black dots all over the scoreboard will need to be fixed... and it won't be cheap.
