While it surely seems like a coincidence, Mark Buehrle (5-6, 3.49) will be going for a major-league-record-tying 11th straight win tonight as Marlins take on the Boston Red Sox in Miami. The Marlins (32-29) are in fourth place in the National League East, while the Red Sox (29-32) sit at the bottom of the American League East.
Buehrle leads all pitchers with 24 all-time wins in interleague play, and he's 10-0 with a sub-two ERA in his last 15 interleague starts. Eleven straight interleague wins will tie the record of Kenny Rogers. Clay Buchholz (6-2. 5.77 ERA) will take the mound for Boston. While he struggled to start the season, Buchholz hasn't allowed more than two runs in any of his last three starts.
The game is scheduled to begin at 7:10 p.m. It will be shown on Fox Sports Florida.
