The Miami Marlins were trying to rebound from their opening series loss against the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday night, but the outcome wasn't what they hoped for. While the Marlins jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, the Red Sox offense went to work in the second and third innings, scoring three runs in each inning.
The Red Sox continued to pound the runs in the fourth inning adding six more runs to push their lead to 12-4 midway through the game. The Marlins picked up another run late on a John Buck solo home run to cut into the Sox lead, but it wasn't enough. The Marlins struggled to keep up as Boston knocked around Ricky Nolasco and Chris Hatcher on their way to a dominating win.
