Marlins Vs. Cardinals Preview: Zambrano, Marlins Looking To Bounce Back From Slumps

With a 10-inning loss to the Cardinals on Monday, the struggles of the Miami Marlins continued as they fell to last in the NL East standings. On Tuesday the Marlins will look to shake off their slump with Carlos Zambrano set to take the mound against Kyle Lohse.

Zambrano has a slump of his own to shake off as he has been unable to pick up a win in each of his last three starts. His last start on Thursday, June 21 was the first time in three games that he was able to finish the third inning; however, his three earned runs through five innings weren't enough to warrant a decision. Zambrano has seen his ERA balloon from 2.81 to 4.01 in his last three starts.

Alternatively, Lohse has found relative success in June, although he has earned only one win during the month. His last performance was a strong one, although it didn't earn him a decision. Lohse threw in seven innings for the Cardinals against the Tigers, allowing just four hits and one earned run.

The first pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET and will be televised on Fox Sports Florida and Fox Sports Midwest.
