Marlins Vs. Cardinals: Can Miami Avoid The Sweep?

The Miami Marlins will try to take at least one game of their series against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals. A win might also bolster the Marlins' sagging fortunes. They have one win in their last nine games.

On the mound to help stop the skid is Anibal Sanchez, who could use a reversal of fortunes himself. The right-hander got off to a hot start. His ERA was as low as 2.01 on May 8. Sanchez failed to make it through four innings in his last start, getting pounded for six runs against the Blue Jays over the weekend. He lost seven of his last nine starts.

The Cardinals turn to rookie Joe Kelly, who hit drove in the game-winning run as a pinch hitter in the 10th inning on Monday. In three starts this season, Kelly has a 1-0 record, a 3.52 ERA, eight strike outs and two walks.

The game starts at 7:10 p.m. Eastern. Fans can watch it on Fox Sports Florida.
