MLB Draft 2012: Rays Select Andrew Toles In Third Round

The Tampa Bay Rays selected outfielder Andrew Toles in the third round of the Major League Baseball Draft. The outfielder did at one time play for the Tennessee Volunteers, but was dismissed from the team. After the dismissal, he wound up at Chipola College in Florida.

Toles was actually drafted by the Miami Marlins in the fourth round in 2010 before he enrolled at Tennessee. In the past year at Chipola, he hit .367 with 33 RBIs. He also stole 29 bases in 36 attempts so there is some speed there.

The Rays hope that his abilities can provide the Rays with a top of the order type player that can get on base with some speed and be a great player in the outfield.
