The Miami Marlins have been attempting to right the ship shortly after the all-star break and so far they appear to be going in the right direction, having won three of their five games since the break. The Marlins have an opportunity to win three games in a row in their game with the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday night.
Josh Johnson (4-5, 4.28 ERA) will take the hill on Wednesday, hoping to rebound from a five and one-third innings loss against the Washington Nationals on July 13. In that start he allowed five runs on 11 hits.
The Cubs will counter with pitcher Jeff Samardzija (6-8, 4.71 ERA) who is also looking for a rebound game. In his last start on July 7, he pitched seven innings, but allowed three runs on seven hits in a loss to the New York Mets.
The game is set for an 8:05 p.m. first pitch from Wrigley Field. Television coverage will be provided by Fox Sports Florida with radio broadcasts on WAXY 790 AM and WAQI 710 AM.
