What could add insult to the Miami Marlins' tough 5-4 loss Sunday afternoon against the St. Louis Cardinals? How about the fact that Marlins third baseman Hanley Ramirez may have injured himself after hitting a dugout fan out of frustration during the game.
Navarro also reports that manager Ozzie Guillen was very upset with Ramirez's decision to take out his frustration on the fan, which caused Hanley to receive two stitches in his hand. Despite this, the current status of the injury is that is should heal over the All-Star break, allowing Ramirez to be in the lineup when the Marlins resume play on Friday.
As for what Ramirez was thinking when he decided to punch the fan, it remains a mystery. Hanley was unable to speak with the media after the game.
