Marlins Vs. Rockies Game Preview: Miami Trying To Rebound And Get Out Of Last Place In NL East

The Miami Marlins are one-and-a-half games behind the Philadelphia Phillies for last place in the NL East. With the season slowly but surely dwindling down to the end, the Marlins are trying their best to stay out of the cellar. After falling in the first game of a four game series at Coors Field, the Marlins are hoping for a rebound against the Rockies on Friday night.

If the Marlins are going to rebound from Thursday's loss, they will need to do it with Wade LeBlanc on the mound. In his last start against the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 12, LeBlanc went seven innings and allowed only one run on six hits. But a lack of run support by the Marlins offense earned his second loss as a starter.

The Colorado Rockies, on the other hand, will send Jeff Francis (4-4) to the mound. In his last start against the Milwaukee Brewers on August 13, Francis went five and one-third innings, allowing three runs on six hits. It was enough to give him his fourth win of the season after losing his two prior decisions.

The game is scheduled for a first pitch of 8:40 p.m. ET from Coors Field in Denver, Colorado. Television coverage will be provided by Fox Sports Florida, with radio coverage provided by WAXY 790 AM and WAQI 710 AM.
