The Marlins weren't able to seize control of their four-game series against the Rockies as Colorado won Sunday's game at Coors Field, 3-2. This would have been Miami's third straight win after dropping the first game of the series, but the Rockies evened the score.
The Marlins jumped out to a 2-0 lead with their first run coming in the first inning off a groundout by Carlos Lee, which scored Emilio Bonifacio. John Buck homered to center field in the fourth inning to extend Miami's lead.
But all the Rockies needed was their three-run bottom half of the fourth to bury the Marlins. Center fielder Dexter Fowler came through with an RBI double and Jordan Pacheco added a two-run bomb to give the Rockies their defining lead.
Adam Ottavino picked up the victory for the Rockies, while Rafael Betancourt recorded the save. Josh Johnson was the losing pitcher.
