Marlins Vs. Diamondbacks Final Score: Fish Pound Arizona 12-3

The Miami Marlins started their series against the Arizona Diamondbacks off on the right foot, pounding the home team 12-3 Monday night.

The Marlins unleashed an offensive explosion against Joe Saunders and the Arizona bullpen, collecting 20 hits. No fewer than seven Marlins had multi-hits nights. Out of the starters (not including Mark Buehrle) Only Emilio Bonifacio failed to reach that mark, adding a single hit to the effort.

Jose Reyes had a four-hit night including three doubles and two RBI, while Giancarlo Stanton hit two solo home runs as part of his 4-RBI outburst. Carlos Lee tacked on three hits including two RBI as well.

John Buck also left the building for his 10th homer of the year. The catcher also scored three runs and had three singles.

On the pitching side of things, Buehrle held down the fort effectively over seven innings. The southpaw only allowed two runs on six hits while striking out four.

In a season where many nights have gone all wrong, the Marlins finally got one to go right.
