The Miami Marlins lost to the New York Mets, 3-0, Friday night, as Miami found themselves unable to figure out R.A. Dickey's knuckleball. Dickey pitched a complete game, giving up only five hits and striking out seven.
Nathan Eovaldi takes the loss for Miami. He went seven innings, giving up four hits and three runs while striking out one and issuing one walk. Wade LeBlanc and Steve Cishek held the Mets without a hit, but Miami was unable to rally. The Marlins were 0-4 with men in scoring position and left seven on base. Justin Ruggiano led the team at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a pair of singles.
The loss drops Miami to 59-73. They'll try to rebound on Saturday in Game 2 of the three-game series, scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET.
