The Miami Marlins will look to even the series against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park.
It's been a rough year for Ozzie Guillen and his club, looking up at the rest of the National League East with just a few weeks remaining in the campaign. However, a strong finish is still possible, starting with this game and Nate Eovaldi on the mound.
Acquired in the Hanley Ramirez trade from the Los Angeles Dodgers, Eovaldi has been inconsistent with a 4.44 ERA on the year to accompany a 4-11 record. In his last start, the 22-year-old pitched well against the streaking Milwaukee Brewers. Eovaldi allowed just two runs on six hits while taking a hard-luck loss.
Roy Halladay will get the ball for the Phillies. The ex-Toronto Blue Jay is having a solid if unspectacular year, with a 9-7 record and a 3.87 ERA. Finally healthy once again, Halladay has shown flashes of excellence. In his last outing, the veteran only gave up one run in 7.1 innings against the Cincinnati Reds.
