Marlins Vs. Phillies Final Score: Miami Drops Second Straight To Philadelphia, 9-7

A late rally proved too little too late as the Miami Marlins dropped their second straight game to the Philadelphia Phillies, 9-7, as starter Nate Eovaldi was only able to go four innings against the Phillies lineup.

Eovaldi got in trouble early, loading the bases in the first inning. Despite forcing Ryan Howard to ground into a double play to surrender only one run, hits from Carlos Ruiz and Domonic Brown allowed the Phillies to score three in the first inning.

After Marlins pitching combined to give up eight runs in six innings, the Marlins stormed back into the game with a four-run seventh inning. Their burst of runs chased Phillies starter Roy Halladay and nearly evened the game at eight.

But after a Jimmy Rollins sacrifice fly in the eighth inning, his third RBI on the night, put the Phillies up 9-7, the Marlins could not make another comeback and ultimately dropped their second straight.

The Marlins wrap up their three-game set with the Phillies tomorrow.
