Marlins-Nationals Final Score: Washington Wins In Extras; 7-6

The Washington Nationals beat the Miami Marlins 7-6 in 10 innings at Nationals Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Marlins were up 3-0 after the first two innings on the back of a lead-off Gorkys Hernandez home run followed by a Giancarlo Stanton solo blast in the first. The third run of the day came on a Donovan Solano single that scored Donnie Murphy.

Unfortunately, it was downhill for Miami from then on. Down 6-3 in the eighth, the Nats rally started with a two-run bomb in the bottom half of the inning. Jayson Werth then hit a game-tying homer in the ninth to send the contest into extras before Corey Brown won the game with a single in the tenth.

Mark Buehrle pitched well over seven innings, allowing just three runs on five hits and a pair of walks. The southpaw also struck out five.

Drew Storen picked up the win with an inning of work for Washington, striking out the side.

The Marlins will try to win the series on Sunday with Ricky Nolasco on the hill.
