Ken Stone and Dustin Pague entered the third and final round of the opening bout of UFC on FX 4 in an evenly matched battle. Stone pushed the pace early in the third round landing a couple of stiff short punches, but Pague continued to keep Stone at range with his punches and kicks, forcing Stone to attempt another takedown.
As the two fighters were on the cage, Pague reversed position to get Stone's back and get Stone to the ground to score a takedown. Ken Stone quickly reversed position during the scrambled getting Pague's back on the ground, eventually winding up in Pague's guard.
Stone began to work some short stiff shots and elbows while in Pague's closed guard. Eventually Stone worked Pague to the cage and began trying to land some big shots, pinning Pague's head against the cage. Stone continued to push the pressure forward, but with just under thirty seconds left, Pague was able to make it back to his feet while Stone was attempting a transition. The two exchanged short punches and knees, with Stone attempting a throw in the closing seconds.
With Ken Stone holding Dustin Pague on the ground and pattering him with punches controlling the fight for the final two minutes, Stone broke the stalemate and picked up his second UFC victory, beating the The Ultimate Fighter 14 cast member.
Judges scored the bout 29-28 Pague and 29-28, 29-28 for a Ken Stone split decision.
