Yoislandy "Cuba" Izquierdo is trying to rebound from his UFC on Fuel TV 2 loss to Reza Madadi as the Hileah, Fla. native is set to take on Rafaello Oliveira at UFC 148. Izquierdo will be bringing his 6-1 record to the ring and trying to pick up his first UFC victory while Oliveira has a 1-4 record in the UFC and will likely be fighting for his roster spot.
In Izquierdo's battle with Madadi, Izquierdo showed off some aggressive and technical striking before finally succumbing to Madadi's relentless takedowns and got choked out in the second round, losing via guillotine choke.
The 28-year old Izquierdo is only in his third year of fighting professionally and has won three of his six professional fights by TKO or knock out. Izquierdo's game leaves a lot to be desired on the ground, which will be a liability against Oliveria on Saturday night, but "Cuba" has shown the ability to keep it standing even against fighters with good takedowns.
