Hileah, Fla. native Yoislandy Izquierdo was looking to rebound from his UFC debut loss with a match against Rafaello Oliveira. Olivera was favored to win the fight, given his advantage with takedowns and on the ground. In the opening round of the bout, Izquierdo stalked Olivera around the ring tagging him with some punches and knees.
Oliveira was eventually able to get the double-leg takedown on Izquierdo and work into the mount. Izquierdo was able to buck Oliveira off however and get back to his feet, landing a few more punches and knees as the round closed.
In the second round, Oliveira was able to once again get the take down and side mount, attempting to catch Izquierdo in a keylock, but "Cuba" was able to break free of the submission attempt. Izquierdo opened up Oliveira's forehead with a short elbow from his back, working strikes on the ground. The round closed with Oliveira controlling Izquierdo on the ground.
The third round went much like the second, with Oliveira once again getting a takedown, slamming Izquierdo on the ground. Oliveira worked his way on the ground again, getting dominant position and getting Izquierdo in a crucifix position, looking like he might end the fight on strikes. The round came to a close however, with Oliveira picking up the decision victory as all three judges scored the fight 29-28 for Rafaello Oliveira.
