Buccaneers release Jordan Shipley, sign Roscoe Parrish

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers waived Jordan Shipley, just days after he muffed a punt against the Dallas Cowboys, and signed Rosoe Parrish.

Jordan Shipley's muffed punt return against the Dallas Cowboys has cost him.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced on Tuesday that they have waived Shipley, and have signed wide receiver Roscoe Parrish in a corresponding roster move.

Shipley couldn't handle Chris Jones' punt in the second quarter of Tampa Bay's 16-10 loss to the Cowboys, giving Dallas the ball back in Tampa Bay territory. The Cowboys would go on to kick a field goal, giving Dallas a 10-7 lead at the time.

The Buccaneers previously cut Shipley on Aug. 31, when Greg Schiano made the final cuts for the 53-man roster. Tampa Bay re-signed Shipley on Sept. 18, after Preston Parker suffered an injury in Week 2.

Shipley, though, made it just one week with the Buccaneers before being released again.

Parrish was a member of the Buffalo Bills between 2005-2011, and has a 12-yard career punt return average. Parrish was signed by the San Diego Chargers in April, but was cut in August. Parrish then latched on with the Raiders on Aug. 28, but was released three days later on Aug. 31.
