Arron Afflalo injury: Magic guard making progress

The Magic guard could make his preseason debut this weekend.

Orlando Magic guard Arron Afflalo is making progress in his recovery from a left hamstring injury and hopes to make his preseason debut on Sunday. Afflalo looked good during workouts on Friday, according to the Orlando Sentinel's Josh Robbins.

Afflalo's left hamstring has been a recurring problem for him -- he initially strained it two years ago and has had it crop up a few times since then. But it didn't force him to miss significant playing time for the Denver Nuggets, where he spent the previous three seasons. Last year, Afflalo started 62 games for Denver and averaged a career-best 15.2 points per game.

The Magic are in action against the Pacers on Friday night, and they'll host San Antonio on Sunday for Afflalo's potential preseason debut. Orlando's coaching staff is still considering whether or not to play Afflalo against the Spurs, though the guard is confident that he'll be ready to go.
