The Orlando Magic picked up their first preseason win Friday night, beating the Indiana Pacers, 112-96. The Magic took a 25-19 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
Glen Davis led the scoring for Orlando, shooting 9-for-14 plus 3-for-4 on free throws to collect 21 points. He also had five rebounds and a steal. Jameer Nelson added 15 points, and Andrew Nicholson and E'Twaun Moore had 13 each. Collectively, the Magic shot 54.9 percent, 5-for-13 on three-pointers and 17-for-22 from the line. Nikola Vucevic and Hedo Turkoglu were on top of the rebounding, picking up 7 each.
Gustavo Ayon had a limited night. After playing 38 minutes against the Detroit Pistons, the power forward saw only 12 minutes of action on Friday night. He had five rebounds and two assists but no points.
The Magic have three games remaining on their preseason schedule, starting with the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday.
