Orlando Magic guard Arron Afflalo has been recovering from a strained left hamstring that has kept him out of the Magic's six preseason games so far. But Afflalo hopes to test it out in Wednesday's preseason game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Afflalo did run up and down the court with Magic teammates on Tuesday, according to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel.
Afflalo knows that the final decision on whether or not he plays on Wednesday lies with new Magic coach Jacque Vaughn:
"I hope so," Afflalo said after practice ended. "The plan is to, but again it's at Coach's discretion."
Vaughn has yet to make an official decision on whether or not to play Afflalo. He wants to wait and see how his hamstring reacts to the extra work before he makes the official decision:
"I did not talk to him after practice," Vaughn said. "If I was to say going into practice, I would like to see him play against Memphis. I'll talk to him on the plane or see how he feels after he ices and see about shootaround and [it'll be] kind of a gametime decision. But he did some good things in practice today."
The Magic are scheduled to play the Grizzlies Wednesday night at FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tenn. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
