Magic Start 1-0 With Win Over Nuggets

Orlando started off the post Dwight Howard era with a bang, defeating the Denver Nuggets 102-89.

Orlando quickly jumped out to an 11-point first quarter lead and pushed that lead to as many as 23 before holding off the Nuggets for a 13-point victory.

On several occasions, the Nuggets threatened to get back in the game, but the Magic had answer for every Nugget run.

Glen Davis led the way with 29 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks while veteran J.J. Redick 21 points, six assists and four rebounds off of the bench. E'Twaun Moore had 13 points, five rebounds and three assists in his Magic debut. The entire Magic bench played well, totaling 45 points.

Orlando shot 48.8% from the field and turned the ball over just 11 times.

It was a different story for Denver, who fell to 0-2 on the season. The Nuggets shot just 38.1% from the field and turned the ball over 14 points. Danilo Gallinari led the Nuggets with 23 points and eight rebounds.

The Magic will be in action Sunday when they host former Magic center Marcin Gortat and the Phoenix Suns.
