The positives certainly outweighed the negatives in the Orlando Magic's 102-89 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Friday night, says Ajeeta Khanna of Orlando Pinstriped Post.
The Orlando defense, which forced the Nuggets into shooting 38.1 percent from the field, was largely responsible. However, big nights from Glen Davis (29 points, 10 rebounds), J.J. Redick (21 points, six assists, no turnovers) and E'Twaun Moore (13 points on 6 for 10 shooting in 24 minutes) proved valuable for the Magic, who followed a lackluster preseason with a big win over a team that many feel is a dark-horse championship contender.
Of course, there are always some negatives. The Magic had a couple which, fortunately for their sake, did not cost them the game. Hedo Turkoglu broke his hand and left in the third quarter. His return is uncertain. Meanwhile, Arron Afflalo didn't have the greatest showing against his ex-teammates, scoring just seven points on 3-for-13 shooting.
Still, the Magic appear to be in a good spot as they get set to host the Phoenix Suns at 6 p.m. ET on Sunday.
