While the Miami Heat have spent most of the early NBA season in first place in the Southeast Division, two wins in their last three games have helped the Orlando Magic climb back into the division hunt in the early going of the 2012-13 season.
The Magic will get a chance to add to their resurgence this weekend when they play two games in three days — against the Sacramento Kings on Friday night and Phoenix Suns on Sunday night — both on the road. The Suns and Kings bring up the back of the pack in the Western Conference's Pacific division.
The Heat, on the other hand, will play one game this weekend after a showdown with the New York Knicks on Thursday night — a Saturday night primetime meeting with the New Orleans Hornets at home in Miami.
Here's this weekend's entire local NBA schedule:
Orlando Magic vs. Sacramento Kings, Dec. 7, 10 p.m. ET
New Orleans Hornets vs. Miami Heat, Dec. 8, 7:30 p.m. ET
Orlando Magic vs. Phoenix Suns, Dec. 9, 8 p.m. ET
