The Washington Wizards were looking for their first win of the season, but the surging Orlando Magic were not up to oblige. The Magic took a 56-38 lead into halftime and just cruised on to an easy 103-85 victory. The Wizards had no answer for center Dwight Howard who finished the night with 28 points and pulling down 20 rebounds with three blocks. Forward Ryan Anderson had another nice game with 23 points, hitting three of his five three point shots.
The Wizards just couldn't get much going consistently enough offensively and shot just 2 of 12 from the three point line. Nick Young led the Wiz in scoring with 17 points and four rebounds, while John Wall picked up 14 points with five assists.
